Onion Chutney

2 onions
4 cloves garlic
1 inch piece ginger
2-3 green chillies
1 tbsp fresh coconut flakes
1 tbsp puffed chana (pottu kadalai)

In a pan, add 1 tsp oil and heat. To the hot oil, add all above ingredients and fry for 2-3 minutes. Add salt and grind in a blender for 2 min.

Serve with thosais or idlis.

5 Grain Thosai

Serves 4. Preparation Time: 1/2 hour.

Rice flour - 1 cup
Besan - 1/2 cup
Rava - 1/2 cup
Ragi flour - 1/2 cup
Maida / cornflour - 1/2 cup
Water
Salt to taste
Chilli powder to taste
Minced coriander leaves - 2tbsp
Haldi - 1 pinch
Hing - 1 pinch

Mix all flours in a bowl and add 2-3 cups of water. Add salt, chilli powder, haldi, hing and coriander leaves. Keep for 1/2 hour.

Pour one ladleful of batter over a thosai tava to make one thosai.
